Obituary: Sheila Elaine Rose

Sheila Elaine Rose was born on the 7th April 1934 in New Amsterdam, Berbice, Guyana to the late Cecil and Sophia Carrington. She was the wife of the late Harry Rutherford Rose (Snr). Sheila carried out the entirety of her education at All Saints Anglican School, earning her a School Leaving Certificate in 1951.
Sheila Elaine was a creative, a dedicated homemaker, and was passionate about schooling her kids, particularly in their early years. Mom enjoyed sewing, knitting and embroidering; she was also an excellent cook, and took pleasure in passing her culinary skills on to her children, and grandchildren.
Sheila was a member of the Anglican church, before later converting to the Seventh Day Adventist family, here in New York. She remained a staunch and active member of the church until the time of her passing.
Sheila Elaine Rose is survived by her children: Wesley Rose, Brentnol Rose, Felicia Adams, Andrea Holder, Hazel Rose, Harry Rose, Candace Phipps, and Judy Bristol; daughter-in-laws Jean Rose, Esther Rose, Robin Rose; son-in-laws Wray Adams, Roger Holder, Cecil Phipps; brother Robert Carrington and sister Megan Johnson; sister-in-law of Philomena Carrington, Shirley Tyrel, Lynette Nato; brother-in-law of William Byass; numerous grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, including the Carringtons, the Benns, and many others; friend of Karen Bethune, Beryl Freeman, George Cadore, the Adams family, Thoms, Mohans, Victors, McKenzies, Humphreys, Howells, Amsterdams, Bibi Vankenic, the Daniels, Johnsons, Marks, Ramdials, Lalites, Delcina Hart, Joan Bowry, Aunt Violet, Sister Daphne, the Murrays, and many others.
