She ushered me into this world, and as she leaves this world, I cannot find words adequate enough to express our collective loss...or my own personal loss. All I can do is love those she has left behind as I have loved her. Her spirit has transcended these surly bonds of earth and now dances the skies on gossamer wings.

Titled: Sister:Saint

Siblings, under one roof born
Through life's many trials, apart torn
Like a shepherd you called our names
And to your voice we gladly came

You were a second mother to 11 others
Seeking your advice, age didn't matter
Whatever the problem, you had a good answer
You were the glue keeping us siblings together

You lived God-fearing and family-loving
You selflessly gave with no one knowing
Never a quarrel, never a row
To you, in grateful humility, we bow

To us, you were a living saint
Your personality never changed
You meted out wisdom, with grace and love
That could only come from the Father above

With quiet endurance you ran the race
No malice or grudge, are footsteps to trace
Thank you Beloved Sister/Aunt and kin,
Rest in Peace, for the race you've won

Hello everyone, my name is Edith Ogle.
I am here to grieve with the Neufville family on the passing of their beloved, Joyce. I am also here to
bring condolence from the members of the Disciples in Mission and the church family. I am also here to
grieve for the passing of my friend, Joyce
Several years ago, in the 60s I met Joyce in Jamaica at the Kingston Public General Hospital, where we
did our Nursing Training. We lost track of each other, until many years later we met at St. Catherine of
Genoa church, where we renewed acquaintance.
I even had the pleasure of attending memorable birthday, wedding anniversary and even concerts held
by Renee, her daughter, an international singer and most of all we worshiped together.
Joyce spent most of her professional life nurturing, caring and consoling the sick and their families. Her
demeanor most suitable her to do so - she was empathetic, soft spoken and also a good listener. She
always found merit in others. She demonstrated all the qualities of a faithful person.
Joyce’s faith was enhanced by her husband who attended church with her, even took time from his faith
to be with her, and praying with her even to the end.
Joyce was a member of the Disciples in Christ Mission and if ever we needed of a clarification of a Bible
verse, Joyce was able to do so. She read and understood the Bible. All in all, I emulate Joyce as a devote
Christian woman!
Joyce fell ill and when asked how she was, she would say, “I’m not worried about a thing, God is in
charge. God watched over her until he said, “I think it’s time to call you home “, and that he did.
So to her husband, her children and families and loved ones, let us not grieve too much as we know she
is in the arms of her Lord. So let’s say, Rest in Peace, your memories live on! WE LOVE YOU.

Joyce, the first inkling I got that you were ill was a few years ago when we were in Belize. I had no idea then that it would end here. Throughout your illness, you were a true lady and bore the pain with such grace. Your last words to me were that of thanking the Lord for His mercies. I know you are all right now, but I am missing your gentle smile and kind words. I share in your family’s grief, and will always miss you. Sybil DeVeaux
