Christine was born on July 12, 1948, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to the union of the late Jean-Louis Orassin and Anacia Orassin, born Val. Christine was a courageous and adventurous young woman, who at 29 years old, left her country to make a life for herself. She took pride in mentioning that she had visited 21 countries prior to migrating to the US. Christine lived in Brooklyn for over 35 years. During that time, she earned her GED, then attended technical school where she completed her training and earned her license as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1995. She took pride in helping the veterans at the VA in Queens before retiring in 2015. She also had a green thumb; her many thriving rose bushes and plants are a testament to that fact. She was young at heart and very upbeat. Her courageous nature, strong character, sense of responsibility, resourcefulness as well as her unconditional love for her son define and personalize the type of person she was.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved sisters, Mrs. Domingo Sainta, Mrs. William Dubois, Gertrude Orassin, Emmanuelle Orassin and Marie Carmel Orassin. Loving and devoted mother, Christine leaves to cherish her memory, her three children, Lescania, Magda, and Kenny; her three grandchildren, Reuben, Bianca, and Nathan; her brothers, Magloire Orassin, Willie Orassin, Rene Orassin, Christian Orassin, Yonel Orassin; her sister, Mrs. Yolande Rene; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
